How old are the kittens when you let them go home?

Bringing home a new pet is typically an exciting experience. New owners are often eager to welcome their new family member, but it’s important not to skip crucial steps in their furry companion’s development.

Good ethical breeders usually place their kittens in new homes between 12 and 16 weeks of age. Each kitten has its own stage of development and weaning process.

Some kittens may need to be held a bit longer if they have had difficulty weaning, take longer to adjust, or are not yet 100% reliable in using the litter box.

We love our kittens to leave us strong, confident, and healthy. It can be hard to learn that you have to postpone the pick-up date for your new, cherished fur companion, but trusting your breeder’s instincts is the best thing to do.

This little baby will be your companion for the next decade and beyond. Waiting a few more days or weeks to get the perfect baby is the right choice.
