DragonflyGriff specialize in breeding Brussels Griffon dogs. Originally a cat breeder, we have discovered the griffon a couple or years back and immidiately fell in love with the breed. Their loving little “Ewok” face and big-little temper makes them the ideal companion for loving humans. They will follow you everywhere and are alert, sociable and easy to train dogs.

Brussels Griffon features
The Brussels Griffon originated from the Breeding of the Affenpinscher to the Belgian street dog. They also used the carlin and the Cavalier King Charles to create variation in the standard. There is 3 type of Griffons, the Belge, the Bruxellois and the Petit Brabançon.
You either fall head over heel for the breed or you totally dislike them.
Brussels Griffons are an excellent pet breed. The love for their human has no limit. The breed can be describe as alert, sociable and easily trained, they are almost human and even when they give you the “stink eye” it’s to die for!
With this breed you get a big personality in a 5 to 15 pound package! Griffs comes in four colors- red, black-and-reddish-brown (called belge), Black and tan and black- and in smooth coats , like apug, or rough coats, like Schnauzer. Their black muzzle and whiskers earned them the nickname of “bearded dogs” in old folks songs. The Griff body is thickset and sturdy, and he moves with the purposeful trot of a fellow who knows what he wants.
They display a visible air of self-importance.
Although playful and energetic, their small size and sensitive nature make them a poor choice as roughhousing playmates for kids. They have a low threshold for loneliness and will stick close to their special human providing years of love and laughter. Griffs are super affectionnate and sensitive , this is why we also call them velcrodogs.
Brussels Griffon temper
Griffs have huge hearts and looooves to cuddle! This is the best part of their day! One look into their big human-like eyes and you’ll be smitten. A Griffon should not be shy or agressive, but they are very emotionally sensitive, and because of this , should be socialized carefully from a very young age. Griffs should also be alert, inquisitive and interested in their surroundings.
Griffons tends to bond with one human more than others. In fact, Griffs are very good with children provided they are not teased. They are not patient but loves to play. Griffons tends to get along well with other animals in the house, including cats ferrets and other dogs. However, they can get into trouble because they have no concept of their own relative size and may attempt to dominate dogs much larger than themselves.

Brussels Griffon General Health
Despite being a toy dog, the breed is very active. Griffons have relatively few inherited health problems, but should still be tested for congenital defects, the most serious of which are Syringomyelia (SM) and Chiari-like-malformation (CM). The typical life span of a Griff is somewhere in the range of 10 to 15 years.
Although Griffs have a shortened snout, heat strokes is not a major concern for them as it is with other flat-faced breeds. The breed’s shortened muzzle may cause respiratory problems in extreme heat , but overall they tolerate both hot and cold weather as well.
As with any breed, owner must use common sense and not leave them outdoor without protection from the elements or subject them to rigorous exercises during extreme temperatures, so let them in your house for cool air and some water.
Are Griffons Brussel dogs hypoallergernic?
Brussels Griffon are not hypoallergenic. Their minimal shedding and unique coat can result in a lower allergen production if you compare with other dog breeds. That being said, it is better to spend some time with the breed to know how you personally react to the Brussels Griffon. Regular grooming can also help lower the allergens. Do Brussels Griffon shed?
The Brussels Griffon are considered low-shedding dogs. They require minimum maintenance such as regular brushing and an occasional trimming. Their coat is smooth and wiry so they don’t shede as much as other dog breed. They are aperfect choice for those who complain about shedding.

Viral Health is guaranteed for a period of 14 Calendar DAYS from the time the puppy leaves the possession of the breeder for any viral infections. This puppy has been seen by our vet and has a clean bill of health.
We do require that you have your new puppy checked by your veterinarian within 10 days of arrival to activate your guarantee.
The puppy must be scanned for his microchip number which must be written on all vet reports.
Congenital/Hereditary garantee
Puppy is Guarantee 1 year from the date of Sale against life threatening or life altering condition. No cosmetic problem is guaranteed. The warranty covers against fatal and life altering congenital diseases.
Neglect or abuse will void ALL guarantee
General contract clauses
There are no cash refunds.
Our puppies are certified pure breed with AKC registration.
Our home is certified Negative for distemper, parainfluenza, parvovirus and hepatitis, so is the puppy.
We encourage potential buyers to always do their homework and research the breed before comitting and to insure the puppy will fit their lifestyle.
Brussel Griffons are wonderful dogs but just not for everyone like any other breed. We will gladly assist if you have question or need more informations.
Our right as breeder
DragonflyGriffs reserves the right to refuse a sale to anyone for any reasons at any time.
Signature of the buyers on the contract shows they have read and agreed to all terms of this contract. This is a full contract: all the conditions are in writing and signed by both parties. No other agreements implied or verbal would apply.
All our puppies are sold as a pet with a limited AKC registration and not for breeding purpose. Buyers agrees that when the puppy will come of age after he/she is fully grown he will have to be neutered/spayed with the approval of a certified Veterinarian.
