Are Devon Rex cats hypoallergenic?

First of all, no breeder should claim that Devon Rex cats are entirely hypoallergenic. That said, many people who have previously experienced cat allergies may develop no or very few symptoms when exposed to Devon Rex cats. If this is your case, you should request a test that can be done at home.

The Devon Rex kitten's coat is fuzzy and will gradually change as he reaches adulthood. Allowing an allergic person to adapt to a kitten over the long term is easier than with other pets.

The kitten will develop his coat over time, and the owner will also establish a specific “habit.”

You may experience very mild reactions in the first few days, but the situation should gradually improve each week. We will not allow people with allergies to visit the cattery because it could shock their immune system, making it difficult to accurately assess the long-term potential for allergic reactions.

It’s important to know that if a person has seasonal allergies, they might notice a slight increase in their reaction to the cat during that short period. This reaction usually stops at the same time as the seasonal allergies.
