Bringing home a new pet is usually a very exciting experience. Usually new owners are very eager to get their new family member but be careful not to skip important steps in the development of your fur companion.
Good ethical breeder will usually release their kittens to new homes anywhere between 12 to 16 weeks of age depending on the generation ( savannah cats), the stage of life of each kitten and the weaning process.
Some kittens may be held a little longer if they have had difficulty weaning, just take longer or are not demonstrating 100% accurate litter box habit.
We love our kittens to leave us strong, confident and healthy. It can be deceiving to know you have to postpone the pick-up date of your new cherish fur companion , but trusting your breeder’s instinct on this is the best thing to do.
This little baby will be your companion for the next decade and more, waiting few more days/week to get the purrfect baby is the right choice.
