Devon Rex kittens for sale in Edmonton and Calgary

Alberta is thousands of kilometres from Montreal, so your kitten travels to you. We prepare the paperwork and health certificates and plan the transport together, and every detail is confirmed when you reserve. Shipping costs are extra.

Much of Alberta’s growth is in newer suburbs — Airdrie and Chestermere outside Calgary, Sherwood Park and Spruce Grove around Edmonton — where families have space but also long commutes and full schedules. A Devon Rex fits that rhythm well. It is an indoor cat, so nobody has to worry about letting it out before work, and it is affectionate enough that the end of the day feels like a proper welcome home.

We welcome families from across the province, including:

  • Calgary
  • Edmonton
  • Airdrie
  • Cochrane
  • Okotoks
  • Chestermere
  • St. Albert
  • Sherwood Park
  • Spruce Grove
  • Leduc
  • Red Deer
  • Lethbridge
  • Canmore

Keeping a thin-coated cat comfortable through an Alberta winter

Of all the places we send kittens, Alberta asks the most of a Devon Rex in January. The coat is short and wavy with very little undercoat, so this is a cat that seeks out warmth rather than tolerating cold. The good news is that it will find it on its own: the furnace vent, the heated bathroom floor, the back of the sofa in the afternoon sun, and your side of the bed. A fleece-lined or heated bed away from exterior doors, and a home kept at a comfortable temperature when the house is empty, cover the rest.

The second Alberta detail is dryness. Prairie winter air plus forced-air heat makes for very low humidity indoors, which can leave any cat’s skin itchy and its coat dull. A humidifier in the room where your cat sleeps, plenty of fresh water and good-quality food make a visible difference. Calgary’s chinooks add sharp temperature swings on top of that, which is one more reason this breed stays indoors year-round.

Planning your kitten’s trip to Alberta

Once you have reserved, we plan the trip to Alberta together. We take care of the paperwork and the health certificates, keep you updated as the departure date approaches and confirm all arrangements in advance. Shipping costs are in addition to the price of the kitten, and the balance is due two weeks before shipping.

Your kitten arrives with its health records, Royal Canin starter kit, registration papers and 30 days of Trupanion insurance. If the homecoming falls in the middle of winter, have a warm, well-padded carrier and a blanket ready for the last stretch home. After that, we’re still here — questions about winter care, feeding or settling in are always welcome.

Frequently asked questions

Do you place Devon Rex kittens with families in Calgary and Edmonton?

Yes. We are located near Montreal and place kittens with families across Alberta. We handle the paperwork and health certificates and plan the transport with you, with all details confirmed at reservation.

How does my kitten travel to Alberta?

We organize the trip with you after you reserve and confirm every detail ahead of time. Shipping costs are extra and the balance is due two weeks before shipping.

Can a Devon Rex handle an Alberta winter?

Yes, as a strictly indoor cat. Its fine coat means it appreciates a warm home, cozy beds away from drafts and sunny spots. A humidifier also helps, because prairie winter air indoors is very dry.

We have a fenced yard — can our Devon Rex go outside?

We ask that Devon Rex cats live indoors. The coat offers little protection from cold, and staying inside also keeps them safe from traffic, wildlife and disease. Supervised time in a fully enclosed catio in mild weather is another matter.

How do I reserve a Devon Rex kitten from Alberta?

Reserve an available kitten with a 30% deposit, or join the paid waiting list ($500) for priority choice on upcoming litters, first come first served. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
